Thomas and his band Peña Verde conjures the sounds of the tropics through a jazz spell. It is the diaspora of the Spanish guitar as it travels through global rhythms, exploring and creating. There are elements of Bossa Noval, Afro-Cuban, Spanish, North Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean mixed with American Jazz traditions. The core of the group is the strings and skins - the guitar and percussion, often with the addition of acoustic and electric bass, and occasionally horns. Sonic postcards that transcend...the world jazz sounds of Peña Verde are vibrant, fun, and now...with an ear to the past and an eye on the horizon!
